For our City Plants department in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Manager Operations

What we are looking for

  • Is part of the Management Team for the City Plants.
  • Directs the Operations Department and is thus ultimately responsible for monitoring and optimising the Operational and Economic management of City Plants' plant(s) and substations for Heat Supply and Electricity.
  • Directs the Operations department within the City Plant organisation. In doing so, strives to minimise operational costs and the optimal deployment of the various plants and substations within the set budget and KPIs, taking into account the environment, legislation, surroundings, image, safety and health.
  • Sets policies in cooperation with the MT and ensures implementation. Prepares the departmental plan on this basis and makes proposals regarding commercial, financial and IT aspects and implements after approval. Executes the established department policy; sets up the organisation, work processes and procedures in such a way that the work can be performed optimally. Executes personnel policy in the field of departmental development, education and training, monitoring quantitative and qualitative and sick leave.
  • Ensures and has decision-making authority in coordination with customers and District Heating partners regarding heat availability and determines/assesses consequences for supply due to restrictions with other suppliers.
  • Ensures participation of Operations in projects regarding new assets and modification of existing assets, in such a way that Operations participates in design and construction and leads the commissioning phase.
  • Optimises use of installations according to economic and sustainable use, taking into account the application of heat supply contracts.
  • Is Head of FAFS and as such responsible for the organisation for adequately responding to emergencies (safety/environment/disruption of supply of district heating). Draws up and updates site-specific emergency plans and district heating contingency plans.
  • Supervises the application of the Safe Working procedure and ensures a safe working environment.

 

 

Who we are seeking

  • Academic education level in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of English in word and writing is must.
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Strong team player, with the skills to positively influence and bring people along with Uniper's changes.
  • Have knowledge of laws and regulations belonging to the production of Electricity and Heat in a city location.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
