Process Engineer - Low Carbon

Uniper's Growth Engineering is the enabler for all decarbonization projects, green customer solutions and security of supply topics within Uniper. As part of its role, Growth Engineering engages in the technical concept development and engineering design in close cooperation with the responsible Business Lines and Partners. The purpose of this role is supporting the technical development of decarbonization projects to reach financial close and providing technical support during the project execution phase. The role will be integrated into the Ratcliffe (near Nottingham) based team and focus on projects in UK.

Your responsibilities

 

  • Conceptual and basic design of plants for generation, transport and storage of low carbon fuels (i. e. green H2/NH3) and/or CO2
  • Development of philosophies and descriptions for design and operation as well as lead documents (i. e. PFD, P&ID)
  • Sizing and specification of process equipment (i. e. electrolyser, gas treatment)
  • Preparation and coordination of design
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines
  • Act as owners engineer representing Uniper’s interests through all engineering phases up to financial decision.
 

 

Your profile


  • Engineering degree level qualification (or equivalent), ideally in process engineering.
  • Relevant experience in engineering / owners engineering of gas or hydrogen infrastructure / plants / gas storage facilities.
  • Knowledge about water supply- and leaching process for above ground storage facilities preferable
  • Experience of working in an international business environment and in leading engineering contractors.
  • Knowledge of operating relevant process engineering software tools (i. e. HYSYS, Flaresim)
  • Resilient team player with a high level of self-motivation
  • Business fluent language English with good communication and presentation skills. Command of German/Dutch/Swedish language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within UK and internationally.
