Project Integration Engineer

An exciting opportunity to work within Connah's Quay's Project Integration Team, delivering project opportunities and decarbonisation options at our Connah's Quay site. This role, reporting to the Project Integration Team Leader, is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward looking team in an inclusive, supportive environment as we develop and implement new technologies and transition our assets towards a zero carbon future. As these low carbon projects develop through engineering design, it is vital that we ensure effective and optimised integration of the project's requirements into the site and it's infrastructure.

Your responsibilities

 

  • Proactive member of the Connah’s Quay Project Integration Team, which is working to support and deliver key decarbonisation projects at and around the Connah’s Quay Power Station site.
  • Using your project experience and stakeholder management expertise, you will work across internal functions and external parties to support delivery of Site Masterplan opportunities for the Connah’s Quay site.
  • Acting as the technical interface between projects and site, you will ensure optimised engineering integration is delivered, maximising value and opportunity for Uniper across key projects and phases including, but not limited to, our ‘Connah’s Quay Low Carbon Power’ project’s FEED works, permitting and Development Consent Order
  • Ensure all project integration activities meet internal and external audit standards, identifying potential gaps to ensure action plans are in place and progressed effectively.
  • Manage on site works and contracts through where required through project development.
  • Work collaboratively with Uniper project delivery functions to ensure continuous improvement and maximise the performance of the Connah’s Quay asset and site.
  • Support the development and delivery of the Deeside Decarbonisation Forum, including the management and alignment of key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of events and initiatives
  • Support the delivery of our scope within the North East Wales Industrial Decarbonisation Plan, a UKRI funded initiative across Flintshire and Wrexham
 

 

Your profile


Essential

A degree (or higher) qualification in an associated subject – Engineering, Science, Energy Economics or similar. A HNC together with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.

  • An applied understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and standards and a positive safety mind set possessing the ability to drive the correct safety culture in others, supported by a safety management qualification (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health – Managing Safely / National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Certificate).
  • Demonstrable track record of engineering development, design and implementation.
  • Project Management capabilities and experience.
  • A proven ability to identify and analyse complex situations by isolating key issues evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions to deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across functions and teams as well as with third-party project partners.
  • A structured and engaging aptitude for Stakeholder Management, forming enduring working relationships and identifying win-win solutions.
  • The confidence to challenge established practices and deliver imaginative solutions.

Desirable:

 

  • Experience of Power Station design, maintenance and operation
  • Experience with information management and transmittal in large or complex projects
  • A track record of applying continuous improvement techniques to improve performance of management systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of current policies and procedures which affect project development, project integration, integrity of assets.
  • Knowledge of power/industrial decarbonisation options and development requirements.
