Your responsibilities
As part of the Business Support Team, you will be aiding in the day-to-day activities of the team to ensure that processes are followed correctly. You will provide support to station colleagues and assist in planning for future station activities, whilst utilising the theoretical knowledge you have gained so far in your university studies.
- Post employment you will be fully onboarded and introduced to your new colleagues to make you feel part of the team.
- Your initial activities will include spending several weeks with the different teams on site to gain valuable experience in understanding how a power station works.
Including:
Engineering Support Team: Spending time with the engineers understanding how the Power Station is supported across several roles. Concentrating on the short term and the long term future of the station.
Engineering Team: Planning for long term strategic engineering activities including outages/shutdowns and projects.
Production Team: Understanding how the power Station is operated and all the systems link together.
- You will become familiar with various power generation processes, assets and will actively contribute to ensure business continuity is met.
- Working with lots of different people, interacting with our managers and executive team
- Supporting the development of low carbon, sustainable solutions
- Utilising and developing a range of additional skills to help us develop and create monthly reporting, dashboards and design, implement and document key processes, including safety, contracts, commercial and the preparation of presentations.

We're looking for people who can bring a flexible, enthusiastic approach, plenty of self-motivation and lots of ambition. We'll expect a lot from you, but we'll also make sure you have a strong team of experts around you - people who'll be happy to share their experience understanding with you.
A Business Services Student will be:
- Enthusiastic, passionate and inquisitive with the dedication to achieve a career in Business Services
- Possessing or working towards a relevant degree level qualification
- Confident in using Microsoft packages with good analytical and commercial skills; a knowledge of working with spreadsheets or databases would be useful
- Organised and meticulous in all aspects of work, and able to work to strict deadlines
