Working Student - SQL, Power BI & Margining Risk Reporting (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities

As a Working Student in the Margining Risk Reporting team, you will contribute to the development of the pipelines and dashboards that provide critical information to decision makers across Uniper. In this role, you will work with SQL, Power BI, and automation tools to support new reporting initiatives, streamline existing processes, and help keep the reporting infrastructure up to date with evolving business needs. You will gain practical experience at the intersection of risk management, data engineering and energy trading, while working closely with experienced colleagues from across the business. Your responsibilities: 

• Conduct ad hoc analysis to support the ongoing development of the Margining Risk data infrastructure 
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Snowflake SQL queries used for data transformation and validation, proactively suggesting improvements in logic and ETL processes 
• Assist in designing and building Power BI dashboards and interactive reports 
• Work with stakeholders in Risk Management, Data Management and Front Office to translate business requirements into data solutions 
• Occasionally support upstream projects with requirements analysis and user acceptance testing (UAT) 
• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to support process automation and selected AI-driven use cases  

Your profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program (data science, economics, risk management, finance, mathematics, business informatics, or a related field) 
• Strong interest in energy markets and financial risk management in a trading context 
• Initial hands-on experience writing and reviewing SQL queries is ideal; proficiency in Excel is required 
• Previous experience with Power BI (including DAX) and Power Automate is a plus 
• Exposure to data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft Cloud) is an asset 
• You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to anticipate edge cases, curiosity and a structured working style 
• Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus) 
• Available for 12 months
