Trainee in IT (f/m/d)

 The IT applications of Uniper's Trading and Selling Energy Commodities business are managed by Uniper IT, our in-house IT function. Our IT landscape is fully in the Azure Cloud and we run a mix of In-house developed applications and 3rd party solutions. You will join our Düsseldorf team of international IT professionals that have an end-2-end responsibility in enabling the success of Uniper's commercial function. Interested? Your responsibilities

• During the 18-24 months trainee program, you will develop a deep understanding of Uniper’s business, its value drivers, and the business environment 
• You will learn from, network and collaborate with experts from different fields across Uniper, contribute your ideas and work on your own projects 
• You will contribute to our active trainee community, receive many training courses and development opportunities, and network with the trainee community 
• You will start in IT for the first six months of your trainee program and then rotate flexibly upon your individual career development path and interests across the organization. You design your individual placement plan and receive support from your own mentor 
• We are looking for two trainees, one in “CCO-Platform Engineering” with a strong focus on creating bespoke solutions for Uniper’s energy trading business and another one within the “IT Architecture & Optimization” team of Solution, Security, and Enterprise Architects who guide internal and external development teams in defining and advancing IT architecture to meet business and IT needs.

• Depending on your preferred home unit IT, you will have the chance support e.g. digital solutions, while also contributing to IT system optimization, and digital transformation initiatives, including IT architecture and agile project management 

Your profile

• Successfully completed studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics with a focus on information technology or similar fields 
• First practical experience gained through internships and/or working student activities, ideally including intercultural experiences 
• Some understanding of cloud computing, modern software development, and IT solution architecting. As we are using Microsoft’s AI portfolio, any exposure to machine learning, Copilot studio or data engineering will give you a head start  
• Motivation to learn and develop in an international environment, taking the initiative and proactivity while working in various teams 
• Communication skills and the ambition and skills to network among different stakeholders paired with analytical skills 
• English language skills are required, German is a plus
