Your responsibilities

During the 18-24 months trainee program, you will develop a deep understanding of Uniper’s business, its value drivers, and the corporate environment.
You will learn from and collaborate with experts from various fields, contribute your ideas and work on your own projects with internal and external stakeholders.
You will start in the Storage Business Development & Partnerships department and rotate flexibly based on your own career development path – you design your individual placement plan and receive support from your own mentor.
You will apply your commercial or technical and operational expertise as well as your entrepreneurial thinking and project management skills.
You will support coordination and preparation of internal decision papers (strategic and financial choices).
You will develop Business Development and Asset Management competencies.
You will learn about best practices in the energy industry, particularly in areas of strategic planning, contract management and risk management.

Your profile

Successfully completed studies with a focus on either engineering, business administration or economics
Intercultural experience and openness to work in an international environment is crucial, experience abroad is a plus
Sense of responsibility, proactivity and advanced interpersonal communication skills as well as a drive for continuous improvement with a hands-on mentality
Passionate about the energy industry and decarbonization topics
Fluent language skills in English are required, German is a plus

Your benefits

During your 18- or 24-month traineeship at Uniper, you will get to know various divisions and gain valuable experience for your future. In addition to some predefined stations, you can flexibly combine other departments that you would like to pass through and work in an international environment with team members from over 80 countries. In coordination with your team and the requirements of your tasks, you can choose how, when and where you want to work.

Based in Germany, the program gives you a deep insight into our day-to-day business and helps you to explore your personal strengths. You will also have the opportunity to bring in and enhance your interpersonal and teamwork skills. Individual mentoring and a buddy from day one will ensure you have the best possible foundation for the next step in your career at Uniper. We are fortunate that, on average, more than 95 % of all trainees remain with our team after their program and take on an appropriate follow-up position.
