Your responsibilities

 

Uniper is creating a one-stop-shop technology platform for all geospatial related data and applications within the Renewables business and wider COO area. As a Senior GIS Manager, you will guide our business colleagues as a trusted advisor, helping them define and implement geospatial business solutions with a strong focus on Renewables use cases and workflows. You will evaluate and translate requirements, business goals, objectives, and strategies into geospatial capabilities and solutions that meet organizational needs and deliver value to our stakeholders.

 

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of GIS tools and solutions, with a primary focus on ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes and ArcGIS Online.
  • Contribute to the definition of our geospatial strategy across the entire value chain of renewables by designing, developing, and implementing geospatial solutions that support solar and onshore wind projects across Europe.
  • Take ownership for innovative solutions using latest technology and work with other members of the geospatial team to define and implement them.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to advise internal teams on geospatial-related matters and best practices, providing input to business colleagues on leveraging geospatial data and solutions for decision-making and optimization of renewable energy.
  • Offer training and guidance to non-geospatial professionals to help enhance geospatial understanding and usage across teams.
  • Manage geospatial data processing, analysis, and visualization to support business needs, including large-scale mapping, spatial analysis, and data integration.
  • Actively shape the future of Uniper’s renewables business through your work on cutting-edge engagements and technology trends such as real-time and big data analytics, generative AI, 3D, and digital twin.
  • Assist with the configuration of ArcGIS-based applications (web, desktop, mobile) based on user requirements.
 

 

Your profile


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to evaluate and translate a customer’s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical implementation plans and solutions.
  • Strong experience in developing and delivering geospatial solutions with geospatial technologies, particularly ArcGIS, within the renewable energy sector and/or similar industries.
  • Proven track record in managing geospatial-related projects including scoping, development, and execution.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and associated tools such as ArcGIS Dashboards, StoryMaps, etc.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions, including Kubernetes and/or AWS/Azure deployments, is a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of spatial data formats, geoprocessing techniques, and data integration (e.g., CAD, GPS data, remote sensing).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, SQL) and automation tools for spatial analysis and data management.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams (IT, engineering, operations) in a fast-paced environment.
