Your responsibilities
- This role will report to the Head of Data Privacy
- Support the business in the whole application onboarding process from a data protection standpoint, including reviewing the data processing, technical and organisational measures, reviewing contracts and Transfer Impact Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and in the application approval process with the Work´s Councils especially in Germany
- Advise the business on data protection law and compliance and answer queries
- Draft Privacy Information notices
- Where necessary, take on DPO duties for selected Uniper entities
- Support the privacy governance activities such as devising employee training plans, audit plans, drafting processes and so on
- Delivering data protection training to internal business units
Your profile
Essential:
- Fluent English (minimum C1) and German (minimum C1) both spoken and written are mandatory.
- A law degree, or admission to practice law in any jurisdiction
- Prior experience in data protection, preferably at least 2 years of work in a data protection team inhouse or in a law firm
- Certifications from certifying bodies such as IAPP or equivalent such as CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM, or CDPSE (ISACA)
- Interest and experience in dealing with technical issues in law and privacy
Desirable:
- Experience in working with a global privacy program
- Prior experience dealing with employee data protection issues in a B2B company
- Qualified to practice law in Germany, Netherlands, Sweden or UK
- Prior experience doing operational data protection such as reviewing data protection agreements, doing data protection impact assessments, entering register of processing activities, handling data breaches and so on
- Stakeholder management skills
- Prior experience in an inhouse legal or privacy team
- Interest or experience in upcoming laws such as the AI Act, EU Data Act and so on
- A digital native able to navigate upcoming technologies
