Your responsibilities

• Focus on further enhancement of the in-house developed Fundamental European Gas model - expand focus to ROW, integrate additional market parameters.
• Develop analytical tools (PowerBI, Tableau) to help our analysts and traders quickly see new market developments and make quick decisions.
• Drive forward automation of regular analysis and models (e.g. storage and flow analysis etc.) and keep data and reports up to date at highest quality with state of the art IT methods and tools
• Conduct short- and mid-term fundamental analysis on European gas as well as global gas and LNG markets to support Uniper in commercial decision making, including portfolio optimization, strategy development, origination and trading. 
• Align mid- to long term views on European, Asian and US gas markets and derive a view on price and spread development by also considering short-term market drivers
• Support the administration and further enhancement of Market Analysis' regular publications and services e.g. Cross Commodity Outlook, Monthly Reports, Market View podcasts, daily gas market morning meetings etc.

Your profile

• Excellent education in the field of Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics or similar with experience in working with databases and handling of large amounts of data required, programming skills (R, Python, VBA etc.) a must. Experience with linear programming problems and statistics is beneficial.
• Ideally 3+ years experience in the field of energy market analysis, preferably covering natural gas and LNG-related fields (not essential)
• In-depth understanding of the fundamental drivers of the global energy markets and gas and LNG developments, as well as a deep understanding of their impact and interrelationship with other commodities
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively work in an international and diverse environment; represent Market Analysis towards a range of stakeholders and ensure timely and transparent exchange within and beyond the Market Analysis team 
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team and under time pressure, ability to be focused in changing environments and adapt to stakeholder requirements
• Fluent English (written and spoken) required, knowledge of additional languages including German a plus
