Your responsibilities

 

  • The Head of Exchange Clearing and Margining Operations is the senior operations partner for all Uniper Global Commodities (UGC) Exchange Traded Instruments (ETD) and Operations across all Commodities and Markets Worldwide 
  • Responsibility for daily operations and services of validation, margining and settlement of spot and derivatives trades on Exchanges and subject to clearing or margining in general, up to ca. €100 billion in value and 2m transactions per year
  • Responsibility of collateral management and together with Treasury responsible for clearing arrangements covering margin facilities up to €1.2 billion
  • Ensuring Trading and Risk policy compliance of derivatives and spot trades and accuracy of controls and reconciliations
  • Responsibility for day-to-day operation and development of existing and new Clearing Agreements in relation with Clearing Houses and Clearing Banks
  • Senior Partner for Front Office for ETD, clearing matters and new product developments
  • Representing Uniper in external committees, working groups with Exchanges, Markets and Clearing Organisations (i.e. Clearing Houses and Clearing Banks) 
  • Product owner for IT developments (i.e. ETRMs, Margining/Settlement solution) for all cleared trades and products
  • All Front Office CCO Teams’ L1s, Head of Desks, Desk Managing Directors for ETD derivatives and spot business, and for trade financing/strategy and cash forecasts margin/instrument related
  • Direct interface and representative for Uniper at external Clearing House, Clearing Banks, Exchanges (Senior / Executive Vice Presidents)
  • Uniper Treasury for collateral and margining requirements
  • CFO/Risk Functions for market, enterprise, liquidity, and credit risk
  • Direct interface to external counterparties for OTC margining
  • Uniper Board for Exchange/Clearing/Margining related business cases and topics (i.e. settlements)
  • Accounting Teams
  • Uniper Financial Services for payment interfacing and reporting
 

 

Your profile


  • Academic degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration

  • Minimum of 5 years international management experience in the energy trading sector e.g. Reporting, Risk, Finance, Front Office, Back Office, IT Operations

  • Deep understanding of energy trading front-to-end processes, trade-lifecycle and systems and service operations

  • Deep understanding of complex contracts, e.g. Derivatives (Futures/Options) and spot contracts

  • Experienced in commercial negotiations with banks and in managing external service providers

  • Deep understanding of Exchange & Clearing Mechanisms as well as understanding of risk related to Operations/Back Office processes (from the energy or financial sector)

  • Excellent Leadership capabilities and exemplar of the Uniper Way as well as a demonstrated ability and experience to lead and coach an international operational team while at the same time evolving nature and technologies of trading operation

  • Highly results oriented person with a proven track record in delivering to targets and deadlines in a changing and demanding environment

  • Strong expertise in Operational Excellence – understanding and application

  • Strong commercial skills and lead negotiation with 3rd parties, i.e. Clearing Houses and Banks for Clearing Agreements

  • Personality to represent the company in official external venues (i.e. Clearing Working Groups/Risk Committees)

  • Network internally and externally to the organisation to Trading Desks, Clearing Banks, Exchanges, Clearing Houses, Margining Teams

  • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of additional languages would be a plus
