Operational Technology Cybersecurity Engineer

We have an opportunity for an OT Cybersecurity Engineer to join our highly skilled engineering team at Holford Gas Storage. As part of the UK critical infrastructure, this modern and highly automated facility is a key player in the UK energy portfolio.

Your responsibilities

 

•    You will work across engineering disciplines to ensure continuous deployment of best practice in cyber security defence.  
•    You will provide operational support for the site DCS system including system updates, upgrades, fault finding and modification.
•    Led by the DCS Engineer, you will deploy, maintain and continuously improve the site OT Cyber Security Strategy
•    You will support OT-Security Operations Centre (SOC) in the investigation and response of security alerts and incidents.
•    You will support the site Information Security Representative with ongoing security risk assessments, table-top exercises and security testing for site operational technology equipment. 
•    You will maintain site security technologies including antivirus, application whitelisting, intrusion detection system, asset management and user analysis system.   
•    You will maintain site security documentation including asset inventory registers, backup and restoration procedures, supplier lists, access control lists, network diagrams, regular reporting etc

 

 

Your profile


Essential
•    Degree level or equivalent qualifications and experience in cyber security / control engineering / automation engineering
•    In depth knowledge of OT security, Distributed Control Systems and Process Control concepts/philosophies 
•    Strong communication and coordination skills
•    Can work effectively and flexibly in a high performing team
•    Use and knowledge of best practice tools for resolving engineering issues to root cause level.
Desirable:
•    Has an extensive understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation including COMAH.
•    Has proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
•    Has an understanding of the health, safety and environmental aspects of the management of external service providers
