Senior Commercial Operations Analyst

We have a maternity cover opportunity supporting our Trading Operations team.

Your responsibilities

 

  • Provide effective and well controlled settlement services to the trading function – all deals settled on time and accurately
  • Provide challenge to the trading function, ensuring processes and controls are consistently applied
  • Support the development of new products working alongside stakeholders
  • Independently align with the Front Office teams, with Credit Risk, Tax, Accounting, and with all other required stakeholders to ensure correct, timely and efficient settlement is performed by the team   
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of trades including validation, data quality management, implementation, settlement and documentation   
  • Be the point of contact for audit processes
  • Ensure tracking and administration of internal controls  as well as KPIs
  • Identify and steer optimization potentials - working with the team to drive initiatives to simplify, standardize and automate processes within the department based on the Operational Excellence principals  
  • Manage (Sub-) projects as well as collaborate with other teams in projects
  • Occasional travel to Dusseldorf will be required 
 

 

Your profile


Essential

  • Educational or professional background in economics/accounting/business administration or similar areas
  • Experience in commodity markets, in deal validation, pre-settlement and settlement tasks
  • Ability to work with Front Office teams on very high value transactions, under time pressure
  • Experience working with SAP and ETRMs
  • Fluent in English language
  • Excellent analytical skills and good knowledge of MS Office services
  • UK commodity market knowledge 

Desirable

  • Experience working as team lead
  • Distinctive customer orientation and focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
