Your responsibilities
Act as subject matter expert for physical and financial gas settlements
Perform reconciliation and settlement of all physical gas purchase and sales transactions
Complete reconciliation and analysis of transportation and commodities costs
Perform reconciliation of bank accounts
Train and mentor new team members
Lead process and control improvements including development of standard operating procedures
Lead efforts to track and reduce operational issues
Test and implementation of systems
Lead automation projects for operational excellence
Complete and file monthly crossborder reporting
Assist with Audit requests and document gathering
Assist as a backup for margin & confirmations as needed
Your profile
Undergraduate degree in Business, Math, Finance, Economics
5 – 10 years’ experience working in an energy trading organization in a back or middle office role. Experience with physical gas is required. Experience with power and derivatives is a plus.
Initiative – Working in a trading environment is dynamic and fast paced; results must be delivered in a fast and efficient manner, which often requires the individual to take initiative and drive things to conclusion and not wait for things to happen
Problem Solving – the business relies on numbers and identifying problems and rectifying them is critical to the success of the business and the individual
Customer Service – the role serves a number of customers and working proactively to relay information and meet customer needs is a key driver of business success
