Uniper seeks a Natural Gas Trading Analyst to join its North American team, either in its Houston, Texas location or from the New York City area.

What we are looking for

Programming skills for scrapping data, building models, and warehousing data (SQL, Python+Pandas, Excel+VBA)

Work with team to design and implement models in a high-reliability python/pandas/SQL environment.

Design and present data in easy-to-understand formats to the team and work with team to optimize data display and organization.

Must be able to handle several projects concurrently and quickly switch between tasks to best support the current needs of the team.

Assist in the development of regional basis models within North America and/or global models.  This should include daily automation and scenario distributions. 

Develop tools for option pricing and analysis for both the US and global markets.

Utilize suite of models to evaluate and recommend trade strategies for all facets of UGCNA’s business units

Design trade strategies with understanding of pricing and execution of the various traded instruments in the Natural Gas Market 

Work with London and global analytics team to manage reports and exchange data/analysis across platforms

 

 

Who we are seeking

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or other related field.

Preferably, at least 2 years of professional experience as a programmer/analyst demonstrating consistently strong performance with strong analytical and numerical skills. Exceptionally strong applicants with less than 2 years of professional experience will be considered, particularly if they have experience during college internships.

Experience building and managing fundamental energy models and analytic tools.  Experience SQL, Python+Pandas. 

Teamwork – develop effective relationships with colleagues within UGCNA and Uniper Group. Provide constructive feedback, and express appreciation of others’ contributions.

Strong communication skills, especially in a business context

Ethics – work in accordance with Code of Conduct and established regulatory standards
