Your responsibilities
Regional and commodity focus: Gulf Coast/TX US physical gas market for transportation and storages.
Develop a physical portfolio in respective region (customer and asset wise) and connectivity to other regional gas teams (Gas: Midwest/Midcon and NE/Mid-Atlantic connectivity)
Utilize a strong working knowledge of the US physical and financial natural gas markets within the Gulf Coast and surrounding regions to generate profits as well as to capture arbitrage opportunities.
Analyze market conditions, price trends and supply-demand dynamics for natural gas in the Gulf Coast and surrounding regions.
Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve financial targets.
Monitor regional and global energy market developments and assess their impact on region.
Identity new markets and opportunities that provide growth potential in the Gulf Coast
Responsible for trading cash and forwards to meet UGCNA’s contractual obligations with suppliers and end user markets.
Develop and implement physical trading asset optimization strategies around transportation and storage positions that maximize profitability and minimize risk.
Collaborate with other traders as well as the origination team to profitably grow our gas business, provide input into the evaluation as well as facilitate the execution of structured transactions (i.e., asset management arrangements, capacity related transactions, cross commodity price structures, etc.).
Work with other trading teams and market analysts to develop fundamental point of view, understanding the key market drivers that effect fixed price, Nymex spreads, and basis spreads.
Solicits bid/offers and negotiates the purchase and sale of natural gas.
Ensures all deals are checked out and captured accurately in our ETRM systems so all positions and P&L is tied out daily.
Responsible for assisting in the business continuity plan for the Gulf Coast gas team to ensure operational integrity of desk.

Your profile
Four-year degree is required, preferably in finance or accounting or some technical related field.
Minimum of 7 years+ of experience working in physical natural gas in a trading/asset optimization role or transportation/storage trading role.
Financial Hedging/Position construction
Solid understanding of US Gulf Coast markets.
Understanding of MTM accounting, value at risk, a sound understanding of risk bifurcation and risk exposures generated from physical and financial gas trade types
Leadership skills, Team player qualities, entrepreneurial thinking, strong communicational skills
