What we are looking for

  • Set, maintain, communicate and enforce the standards of managing Market and Credit risk across all Uniper Functions and geographies via the Uniper Market and Credit Risk Policy
  • Set, maintain, communicate and enforce the standards for risk managing trading with algorithms, Country Risk as well as the risk related aspects of Financial Regulation (EMIR, MiFiD, MAR) across all Uniper Functions and geographies via the respective policies and procedures 
  • Execute the operative risk control for Algo Trading
  • Coordinate the Uniper Group’s annual risk capital allocation process and ensure the limits set are affordable against the Groups financial situation
  • Maintain Uniper’s Risk Strategy which outlines how the group manages different risk categories
  • Effectively operate the key Market and Enterprise Risk controls (Limit monitoring, Market Conformity check, Algo Self-Assessment,…) and act as ICS coordinator for the Risk Management function ensuring the right risk controls are consistently operated across geographies
  • Define and execute the governance for Uniper’s Financial Regulation limits and thresholds
  • Manage the relationship with Uniper Corporate Audit as well as external auditors on behalf of the Risk Management Function  
  • Develop a team of Risk professionals into a high performing, well respected team capable of enforcing a strong risk culture across Uniper    



Who we are seeking

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, Finance or similar education
  • Professional Qualification in Business or Finance
  • At least 10 years of risk management experience for different risk types (Market-, Credit-, Operational-,…) and proven track record in a leadership role within the Energy Trading/ Banking industry
  • Expertise and passion for developing an effective Risk Policy landscape in line with regulation and industry best practice
  • Knowledge of Financial Regulation (esp. EMIR, MiFiD, MaRisk, RTS6), Risk Governance requirements and experience of implementing these
  • Passion & ability to drive and influence change in risk culture across the organisation through the setting of standards and continuous reinforcement of these
  • Knowledge of audit techniques and frameworks desirable with ability to provide professional challenge to the audit agenda
  • Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders across functions and geographies and coordinate them to achieve common goals to deadlines 
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high performing teams by inspiring others and cultivating strong positive working relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills across all hierarchical levels including the Board of Management
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English
