What we are looking for

Service Owners are accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of IT services within the organization to provide the best experience for the users while securing the business continuity. They ensure that the service design, implementation, and operation is in line with the requirements and the IT strategy. Service Owners are the key contact for the demand of the various stakeholders but must also focus on the financial management to ensure the delivery of a financially and qualitatively balanced service portfolio.

The service of External Networks is undergoing major transformation as Uniper is modernizing its infrastructure by deploying SASE technologies to replace legacy technologies such as proxy and remote access and reassessing the service portfolio to optimize user experiences and costs in line with the IT strategy.

 

The role of the Service Portfolio Owner (m/f/d) of External Networks encompasses

  • Ensuring that all services in scope are constantly provided within the agreed service levels
  • Coordination of the daily operations of the service lifecycle and associated products, aligning with IT architects, and other internal functions (service management, contract management, etc.) as well as outsourced delivery partners
  • Involvement in the incident management process and in the problem management process, especially for shaping and acting to improve the service
  • Accountable and providing steering for service-related projects, assuming and enabling new services delivered by transformation projects
  • Ensuring service-related change projects adhere to the agreed service design
  • Commercial planning, steering, controlling, and reporting of services in cooperation with the controlling and financial departments
  • Continuous reassessment of the Internal Network Services, defining improvement measures and verification of reported consumption
  • Coordination with contractual services for modifications, adjustments, or changes of the framework agreements or external service providers
  • Managing the overall communication for the service and coordinating the roles involved for change and adoption

 

 

Who we are seeking

Your main task is to ensure a stable Internal Network Service that is well embedded into Uniper’s infrastructure, while constantly assessing potential improvements and providing guidance for optimization. You will be the key contact for all technical, operational, and financial topics around Azure Cloud Network components, RAS & ZTNA, Proxy (on premise and cloud based), SASE and steering the third-party service providers as well as transformation projects. Specifically, we are looking for a flexible and highly motivated person for our dynamic team who supports us securing Uniper’s position as one of the technical leaders in the market:

 

  • University degree (Master), e.g., in Computer Science, Business Administration, or comparable experience
  • Several years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, especially in deploying network, security and Cloud technologies
  • Deep understanding of key emerging network and security technologies such as SASE and Zero Trust
  • Profound experience with Service Operations & Management, including SLA reporting and adherence (certification in ITIL a plus)
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (especially Azure) is a plus
  • Business acumen and profound understanding of the entire IT lifecycle and underlying IT management frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT
  • High degree of familiarity with sourcing strategies, tendering, outsourcing, and provider management
  • In-depth experience with financial management of services (financial reporting, mid-term planning, controlling)
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects and change management (certification in project management like PMP, IPMA or similar a plus)
  • High level of stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate at various levels of the company including Senior Management level
  • Strong team and cooperation skills
  • Convincing personality who is enthusiastic about constantly changing challenges
  • Commitment to being part of an international professional community, contributing to continuous development and improvement of team
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
