Our Renewables team is responsible for developing Fortum's and Uniper's solar PV and wind onshore businesses, primarily in our core European markets. The Renewables business is one of the key drivers of our joint strategic ambitions. Our goal is to achieve annual growth of more than 1 GW by 2025, laying the foundation for the joint 1.5-2 GW "asset ownership" target announced by Fortum and Uniper. Our combined expertise and constructive collaboration, as well as our geographic positioning in this strategically important growth area, form the foundation for achieving our ambitious targets in the wind and solar business. We are looking for you to strengthen our Energy Offtake team with an experienced Senior Manager (f/m/d) - Energy Offtake who shares our vision to create a multi-GW pipeline of renewables business via organic growth and via partnerships and M&A.

What we are looking for

  • Securing the energy offtake for 1 GW plus of renewables projects p.a. to facilitate attractive project economics and open-up opportunities for disposal of projects to investors
  • Structuring, origination and negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in close cooperation with both Fortum & Uniper’s Origination and Energy Sales teams where relevant
  • Assessing the route to market opportunities in various countries across Europe
  • Creating leads/opportunities for Energy Offtake solutions along with developing solutions
  • Managing the participation at regulatory tenders for subsidies (e.g. FiT or CfD) together with the developer and market analysis teams
  • Implementing smooth Energy Offtake processes across the ONE Team Renewables business
  • Optimal cooperation within the ONE Team Renewables, consisting of developers, engineers, project, contract and offtake managers, market and strategy analysts as well as a network of external partners
  • Managing team members - as the business and function grows the role will develop to a people management role
  • Reports to the Vice President Energy Offtake



Who we are seeking

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics or comparable studies
  • Extensive relevant work experience in either in a trading, PPA origination, sales or comparable commercial role
  • Expertise in renewable energy with extensive commercial contract negotiation experience
  • Strong network across the Renewable Energy Industry
  • Deep understanding of the renewable energy market, with a focus on regulatory remuneration schemes as well as market commercialization of utility scale wind and
  • solar-PV
  • Creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record of international work experience and appreciation of cultural differences
  • High mobility/willingness to travel internationally
  • Business fluency in English
  • We are flexible on where the role can be based (Germany, UK, Finland, etc) and can be preominantly based from home but with willingness to work from the office as and when needed
  • The role is full time but can be part-time - we are flexible!
