Senior Legal Counsel or Senior Expert for Energy Market Regulations & Trading Compliance (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities

• Advise Uniper’s global energy business on issues of national and European regulation Actively review physical and financial commodity transactions such as power, natural gas, hydrogen, coal, oil, freight, emissions, green certificates, ammonia and LNG for purposes of regulatory compliance.
• Lead or assist internal investigations and responses to internal and external inquiries in the area of trading compliance (e.g. regarding REMIT II or MAR)
• Play a key role in the continuing implementation of energy market and financial regulation requirements.
• Create and present live classroom and online trainings for front office and support colleagues.
• Coordinate with members of the Legal & Compliance team and all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Business, Risk, Audit) in helping to resolve day-to-day trading compliance issues
• Assist with special projects as needed
   

Your profile

• Strong academic background in law or economics
• Minimum 10 years of experience advising in the industry or banking sector on issues of national and European regulations, particularly in the context of commodities or financial market trading
• Specific experience in MiFID II, EMIR and MAR, required
• Specific experience in REMIT II and/or SFTR preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgement, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment
• Ability to take the lead and work independently on any responsibilities within the job description
• Ability to interact with all levels of management
• Excellent verbal and written command of the English language essential, German language skills are desirable
