Your responsibilities
- Analyse and forecast the European short-term power markets and market channels on a regular as well as ad-hoc basis (e.g. continuous intraday & intraday auctions, day ahead auctions, ancillary services)
- Focus on the core markets: Central-Western Europe, mainly Germany, Nordics, Great Britain to proactively support front office decision makers with respect to market channel optimization
- Acting as the bridge between the short-term markets and the long-term fundamental modeling of flexibility
- Provide expert market knowledge to enable well-founded long-term evaluation of flexibility investments and strategic decision making until 2050
- Prepare for and help mastering an ever-more data-driven market analysis environment and closely align Market Analytics’ future aspirations with our internal stakeholders and peer analysts
- Ensure effective relationships with peer analysts and stakeholders across multiple teams and locations by connecting them with research, materials, and people to guarantee optimal cooperation, information flow, and to support decision making
- Confidently present and communicate insights as a subject-matter expert to a wide range of stakeholders across all hierarchical levels within Uniper
Your profile
- Excellent education in the field of Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or similar
- Market knowledge and experience with the European power markets, the market channels and the fundamental drivers for the very short and also long-term required
- IT affinity and programming skills (VBA, Python, SQL, GitHub, Databricks, etc.) required
- Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively work in an international and diverse environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team and under time pressure, ability to be focused in changing environments and adapt to stakeholder requirements
- Fluent English (written and spoken) required, knowledge of additional languages a plus
