What we are looking for

The role of Network Security Architect is to provide architectural support and drive the successful delivery of global and project specific architecture across the Security and Network domain, with a primary focus on Network operations and Network security. Your goal will ensure that the domain architecture is adequately described and communicated, to develop relevant guidelines and guardrails as well as designs to ensure architectural alignment across the wider enterprise.


You will analyse and review any ‘gaps’ to present capabilities and design cost-effective solutions to close these gaps and provide technical implementation assurance as necessary.


Responsibilities include:

  • developing and align short and long-term strategic technology roadmaps together with Service Owners and interlinked into wider Information Security governance and initiatives.
  • Drive Uniper's ongoing transformation of the network service into a fully SASE compliant environment
  • Deliver or technically validate High Level Designs and governance processes to support service delivery.
  • Creation of Low-Level Designs (HLD) Architecture Documents and Support the creation and updating of Reference Architectures as required.
  • support Uniper Service Owners by identifying service improvement opportunities, designing and overseeing implementation of approved initiatives, with a particular focus on the IT security design of any change.
  • ensure pro-active information flow between the architecture and security community, project organization and external partners over the respective program and project status. Designing architectural solutions that ensure an appropriate balance between security requirements and business flexibility / user experience
  • approval of architectures in their area of responsibility
  • request/Support on Security KPIs from connected Service Owners
  • part of Monthly Performance Dialogs (MPDs) in there Unit together with Information Security Officers (ISOs)




Who we are seeking

  • University degree (Master), e.g., in Computer Science, Business Administration, or comparable experience
  • Experience working within a similar IT Architecture role within a global / multinational organisation.
  • Experience of working with IT partners and suppliers
  • Several years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, especially in deploying Wide-Area Networks, Internet, SD-WAN, Network Security. 
  • Deep understanding of key emerging network and security technologies such as SASE and Zero Trust
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (especially Azure) is a plus
  • Experience designing and/or architecting WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS, VPN, Cloud Connectivity, Cloud Networking (Azure), Network Security, Network Segmentation, Network Surveillance, Access Control, and SDWAN solutions.
  • CISSP and Cisco CCIE Security.
  • TOGAF qualification is desirable.
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) is desired.
  • High level of stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate at various levels of the company including Senior Management level
  • Strong team and cooperation skills
  • Convincing personality who is enthusiastic about constantly changing challenges
  • Commitment to being part of an international professional community, contributing to continuous development and improvement of team
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
