Your responsibilities
- Manage a team of four specialists in delivering robust and effective carbon compliance to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) for Energy Assets. Enable your team to deliver effectively in a detailed compliance task, interacting with multiple locations and cultures
- Deliver Uniper’s processes for the verification and auditing of our generation portfolio’s carbon emmissions in close cooperation with our asset teams and central functions to ensure that Uniper manages conciously the use of free-allocation carbon credits and accurately purchase credits for our carbon emissions
- Ensure effective stakeholder management of all involved functions and external bodies relating to the successful validation and auditing of our emissions data
- Ensure effective risk management, identifying, communicating and mitigating risks
- Be responsible on behalf of Energy Assets, in coordination with other functions, to ensure that Uniper understands and implement any regulatory changes affecting the EU-ETS
- Work with functions that are implementing Uniper’s strategy to ensure that new assets and novel technologies subject to the EU-ETS can be adopted compliantly in to our portfolio
- Deliver the commercial management and technical delivery of carbon compliance management services sold by Uniper to third parties alongisde Uniper’s internal processes
Your profile
- Exceptional leadership skills including communication, personal development and managing the succession of specialist skills
- At least five 5 years of experience in the field of energy or similar operational businesses
- Experience of applying management systems in a position of responsibility, within a legal or commercial setting is an advantage
- A stong attention to detail and thorough mindset is required and experience of auditing is an advantage
- Strong skills in data analysis and digitalisation are advantageous
- People-oriented and with strong listening and empathy characteristics
- Good communication skills from operational roles to board level
- Fluent in German and business English is required other languages are an advantage
