Your task
- Provide legal support to Uniper’s global commodities business by delivering expert advice and guidance regarding derivative and physical transactions in a wide range of energy commodities, with one main area of legal focus in Renewable PPA structures
- Lead the negotiation and administration of standard master trade agreements as well as either EFET based or other Renewable PPA documentation
- Assist in the development, drafting and negotiation of structured commodities transactions
- Assist in the drafting and implementation of internal service level and transfer pricing arrangements
- Coordinate with all members of the business (across the globe) in helping to resolve the day-to-day legal issues of the global trading business
- Assist in the identification, assessment and monitoring of current and emerging regulatory and compliance issues impacting the business
Your profile
- Fully qualified attorney or transactional attorney (Wirtschaftsjurist) with strong academic credentials required
- Multiple years of experience advising on and negotiating master trading agreements (e.g. ISDA, EFET) required
- Multiple years of experience advising clients on one or more of the following commodities strongly preferred: power, natural gas, coal, oil, freight,emissions, iron ore, and/or LNG
- Specific experience with REMIT, MiFID, EMIR and/or Dodd Frank preferred
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgment, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment
- Ability to take the lead and work independently on any responsibilities within the job description
- Excellent verbal and written command of the English language essential; German language skills very helpful
