We are looking for a motivated individual to join our UK Business Controlling team, based at our Birmingham office with hybrid working. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial evaluation for the UK power generation business and drive value by providing effective decision support for our stakeholders.

What we are looking for

  • You will drive effective decision making by leading on all aspects of financial evaluation
  • You will support cross-functional stakeholders through the end-to-end investment process from proposal, through evaluation and decision, to ensuring post completion reviews are carried out satisfactorily with lessons learned documented and distributed
  • You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of three Business Controllers
  • You will ensure local stakeholders understanding of, and engagement with, valuation topics
  • You will ensure quality and consistency by maintaining and improving standardised evaluation processes and models

 

 

Who we are seeking

Essential:

  • Excellent understanding of financial performance analysis and valuation techniques
  • Ability to drive projects forward in a changing environment whilst identifying issues and managing to resolution
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data which align with our strategic aims
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel) expected; profound knowledge in database applications and SAP systems would be an advantage
  • Positive attitude towards change; willingness and ability to drive things forward, even in challenging times
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines


Desirable:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in business or finance with demonstrable experience post qualification in a multi-national environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the European energy market and power generation business
