Project Development Manager

Your Task

 

With Uniper’s Asset Management department, the Industrial Customer Solutions (ICS) team is a key component of our long term growth and transformation strategy. The team develops industrial scale power and heat generation assets at our customers’ sites, utilising “build, own, operate and maintain” business models.  

 

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for end-to-end project development, from conceptualization to final investment decision, and execution of the Asset Management asset strategy across the UK.

 

Key Activities:

  • Follow up new leads for longer-term asset-based contractual relationships with industrial customers meeting their utility needs and in close alignment with other Uniper teams.
  • To actively support the development of Energy cluster concepts or industrial park solutions in close cooperation with external stakeholder like local authorities in alignment with other Uniper functions, who lead the customer contact.
  • Bringing to life asset-based business models (process heat focused but also electricity and other auxiliary products) targeting long-term contractual relationships with industrial customers in the UK – close collaboration with other Uniper teams that have the commercial lead and hold customer contact.
  • Develop customer specific asset solutions in defined industry sectors that fulfil their commodity needs and drive contracts to successful financial close.
  • Leading of technical project development and managing processes with other Uniper organizations like engineering, procurement permitting and legal.
  • Champion a one-team working approach across other cross-functional teams, such as, Hydrogen, Asset Based Contracts, Renewables and Asset Development teams.
  • Transfer lessons learned generated from construction and operational phase into new projects.
  • Prepare approval / sign-off (strategic decision / financial decision) for new asset based customer contracts together with other Uniper teams that have the commercial lead/hold customer contact and further implement individual contracts with external customers.

 

Your Profile

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with track record in technology or engineering related activities.
  • Solid hands-on project management and development experience in the energy sector or similar.
  • An understanding of one of the three industry sectors paper/pulp, chemicals or oil & gas (primary refining) and their specific utility needs considering the effect of digitalisation.
  • Successful track record of solution-oriented and value-added business development, liaising with customers and negotiating large-scale projects. Strong technical understanding for project management, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Hands-on, resourceful, results-oriented, proactive and responsive; ability to work well under pressure; high level of assertiveness.
  • A willingness for some travel within UK and abroad.
