In this role, you'll be joining our Modelling and Data Science team. It's our task to model and develop state-of-the-art machine learning and optimisation tools that improve the way we work - and that lead the way across the energy sector in fossil generation, renewables, storage and markets. What we are looking for

In the course of your undergraduate placement year, you’ll develop a deep understanding of one part of the energy sector. How? By answering key questions about how we can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our energy production. In the process, you’ll analyse data, develop algorithms and create prototype software that will help us avoid risks and make the most of our opportunities. You’ll also get the chance to present the findings of your research and analysis to important stakeholders, and to bring your data skills to help large project teams develop detailed implementation plans

 

 

Who we are seeking

To join us;

  • You should be studying Mathematics, or a degree with a strong numerical component, such as Computer Science, Physics or any Engineering discipline.
  • You should ideally also have some backgrounds in software development, tools design with User Interface, knowledge of some analytics tools, data architecture or financial knowledge.
  • Effective communication of technical work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to build relationships.
