The ONE Team Renewables Fortum/Uniper is responsible for the development of the Solar-PV and Wind-onshore business of Fortum and Uniper, predominantly in Europe. The Renewables business of Fortum and Uniper is one of the most important pillars of our joint strategic ambitions. Our aim is to deliver more than 1 GW growth p.a. by 2025 and thereby creating the basis for the joint 1.5-2 GW asset ownership growth ambition announced by Fortum and Uniper. The cooperation of Fortum and Uniper in this important growth business will translate into a boost of the business, with a bigger joint pipeline and early value creation. The geographical set-up and the existing capabilities of Fortum and Uniper will allow us to enhance our solar and wind ambitions in all selected geographies. We are currently looking for an experienced Solar/Wind developer (m/f/d) who is able to develop a multi-GW pipeline of renewables business via organic growth and via partnerships and M&A within the East EU region. The role will be located in Poland most likely in Warsaw.

What we are looking for

  • Lead the regional development team of up to 15 people allocated within our selected markets in East EU countries, initially Poland, Hungary, followed by additional markets in the region like Bulgaria or Romania, from greenfield to ready-to-build (RTB) and supporting until commercial operation
  • Develop utility scale Solar/Wind projects of more than 500 MW p.a., predominantly in Poland and Hungary
  • Cover the full development cycle from origination to RTB or financial close stage
  • Responsibility for a development budget of up to EUR 10 mn p.a.
  • Manage relationships with land owners, permitting authorities, grid operators, regulators, offtakers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with existing Fortum’s and Uniper’s business teams (asset teams, trading / PPAs, finance, others) and enabling functions
  • Supporting role in M&A processes  (assessing market environment/pipeline quality)
  • Build a high performing team, create a rewarding and fun work environment
  • Support the development team and actively contribute to personal development of team members
  • Undertake MD roles in subsidiaries and SPVs within the region as It might be required by the company
  • Reports to the Senior Vice President of Solar Development, ONE Team Renewables Fortum/Uniper

 

 

Who we are seeking

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or comparable studies
  • Strong experience of many years of relevant work experience in management positions
  • Distinctive experience within the renewable energy market, with a focus on utility scale Solar/Wind projects within East EU region
  • Deep understanding of the relevant Solar/Wind market dynamics and the market environment
  • Proven track record in developing utility scale Solar/Wind business (organic/in-organic)
  • Creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experienced in working in an international environment and appreciation of cultural differences
  • High mobility/willingness to travel internationally
  • Business fluency in Polish and English, other East EU languages will be a plus
