Our Renewables team is responsible for developing Fortum's and Uniper's solar PV and wind onshore businesses, primarily in our core European markets. The Renewables business is one of the key drivers of our joint strategic ambitions. Our goal is to achieve annual growth of more than 1 GW by 2025, laying the foundation for the joint 1.5-2 GW "asset ownership" target announced by Fortum and Uniper. Our combined expertise and constructive collaboration, as well as our geographic positioning in this strategically important growth area, form the foundation for achieving our ambitious targets in the wind and solar business. We are looking for you to strengthen our Solar Team Germany, at the Düsseldorf location or an alternative location within Germany, with a correspondingly flexible remote working model!

What we are looking for

  • Management of the project development team for solar parks in one or more regions in Germany
  • Responsibility for project development activities with over 500MW p.a.
  • Ensuring the entire development cycle from land securing to construction readiness of the projects
  • Coordination of the project teams as well as all other steakholders including authorities, politics, planning offices and experts
  • Management of urban land use planning procedures
  • Establishing business relationships with landowners, permitting authorities, grid operators, regulators, power purchasers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Interact and collaborate with existing Uniper teams (asset teams, trading / PPAs, finance, etc.) and supporting functions
  • Responsibility over collaboration within the development team, consisting of developers, engineers, project, contract and offtake managers, and a network of external development partners
  • Be part of a high-performing team and contribute to establishing an appreciative and fun work environment
  • Reports to VP Solar Development
     

 

 

Who we are seeking

  • Several years of professional experience in the development of solar parks in Germany
  • University degree (master's or diploma) with technical, business or legal focus or equivalent training
  • Proven track record in the development of large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of land securing and urban land use planning
  • Good understanding of market dynamics and environment in the industry
  • Excellent communication skills and assertiveness in an international environment and the ability to establish good business relationships at all levels
  • Appreciation for cultural differences
  • Willingness to travel
  • Business fluent German language skills are crucial as well as fluency in English, additional languages would be desirable
