What we are looking for

  • Proactively supporting Uniper Assets, Leadership Teams and Central Functions with Process Safety expertise and active participation in Monthly Performance Dialogues
  • Leading and supporting the development of strategies and action plans for improving Process Safety Management in Uniper through seeking and applying industry best practice
  • Maintaining and improving Uniper’s learning culture by encouraging Process Safety incident reporting, fostering “lessons learned” and supporting implementation of recommendations at all levels of the organisation
  • Leading and supporting Process Safety incident investigations from initial reporting through investigation, recommendations, improvement actions and learning
  • Developing and improving the implementation and interpretation of Uniper’s Process Safety KPI suite with assets, fleets and supporting functions
  • Maintaining and strengthening the Process Safety community of ambassadors through creating forums for sharing good practice and learning, delivering training and coaching of individuals in Process Safety methodologies
  • Proactively reviewing and analyzing Process Safety incident reporting and learning to ensure the quality of reporting and learning documents, identify trends and common themes for focused learning campaigns and improvement activity
  • Contributing to the improvement of the generic hazard and barrier register (BowTie) and supporting the Operational Risk Assessment Team with the implementation of hazard analysis at sites
  • Supporting other teams in Uniper on Process Safety related topics as required for new technologies, regions and businesses etc.
  • Working together with HSSE and other functions on reporting, KPIs, incident investigation and other Process Safety Management topics



Who we are seeking

  • A professional and results driven Process Safety practitioner with: 
  • Education to Degree level - preferably with an Engineering or Science discipline (other backgrounds with technical interest are also welcomed)
  • Operational experience of working with industrial plant and processes with the ability to identify significant Process Safety hazards and understanding of how these are managed
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong desire and drive for improving Uniper's Process Safety performance.
  • Experience of working in an international environment with a rich cultural diversity
  • Willingness to travel to various locations across Europe, sometimes at short notice
  • The ability to influence across hierarchy, technology and country boundaries and to collaborate in virtual teams with cultural diversity 
  • Business fluency in English and German with other (Uniper) languages beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability of, and experience of using, Process Safety methodologies and tools
  • A track record of delivery in challenging and dynamic circumstances
  • Affinity to digitalization and knowledge of IT tools desirable
