Your responsibilities
As an Asset Strategy Manager you will drive the value maximization and green transformation of Uniper’s power stations and other energy assets. You will achieve this by developing asset specific strategies for Uniper’s Energy Assets and by contributing to the execution of those strategies. Your focus will be on the German market but you will also work on projects across other Uniper markets.
In the role you will:
- Analyze energy markets and assess their potential financial impact on Uniper’s energy assets (power generation/storage and gas production/ storage)
- Analyze the commercial performance of Uniper’s energy assets based on different technical scenarios (e.g. implementing or not implementing an upgrade) and market sensitivities (e.g. fundamental market outlooks resulting in high and low spreads and high and low price volatility)
- Create strategies for Uniper’s energy assets, together with site leadership and other Uniper functions, to maximize value and enable their green transformations
- Develop new ideas to maximize asset value based on changes in the energy markets and specifics of the energy assets
- Contribute to strategy execution by carrying out financial evaluations and making recommendations to senior management on investment opportunities and potential operational changes in response to market changes
- Execute strategy by managing cross-functional projects that maximize the value of Uniper’s energy assets and enable their green transformation
Your profile
- Relevant university degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, energy economics or similar
- At least five years of experience in the energy sector
- Some experience with the commercial side of the energy sector and the keen interest to learn more
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills that can be applied to engineering and commercial topics
- A track record of driving activities independently
- Fluent German (minimum C2)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Swedish, Dutch or other European language skills would be a plus
You will be based in Germany and you'll need to travel to German power stations and the Düsseldorf headquarters on a regular basis and other Uniper locations in Europe occasionally
