We have an opportunity based in either Birmingham or Nottingham for a cloud compute services lead to manage our Hybrid cloud and traditional hosting services. This is a key role delivering services to all functional areas of the company. The post holder will be directly responsible for over 1000 servers in the public cloud as well as service owner for hosting services delivered from our traditional (UTZ & DaRo) landing zones.

What we are looking for

You will have considerable in depth hands on experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems

  • You will have experience/understanding of other infrastructure services running on top of those operating systems - e.g. AKS, AVD, DNS, GPO
  • Extensive Azure platform experience to be able to effectively liaise with the wider team and make sure we are making the most of our investment in public cloud
  • Governing and leading our 3rd party supplier in delivering those services
  • Enhance and develop services to add further value to the business in an agile/sprint methodology
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service

 

 

Who we are seeking

Essential:

 

  • Previous management experience of 3rd party technical teams
  • Supplier & stakeholder management
  • Extensive Windows server operating system experience
  • Extensive Linux server experience (RHEL/SLES preferably)
  • Azure hands on experience of deploying/managing resources

 

Desirable:

 

  • Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Windows/Linux Certifications
  • Kubernetes experience
  • ITIL/SNOW experience
  • Experience of working in an extremely fast paced environment
